Interior Design of Exclusive Furs Shop 2007.
Customer’s desire was to convert and retrofit existing premises on the ground floor of a historic building (Alberta street in Riga) for exclusive fur-coats and accessories shop. Following the Customer’s demands, the interior was decorated in black-white colour spectrum. The interior style was selected in accordance with rooms layout and size, typical for historical building.
The eclectic style with kitsch elements was chosen. Modern and hi-tech finishing materials were mainly applied. Similarly, the goods storing systems and illuminating equipment were selected to match the modern style of minimalism. However, to add luxury bloom and make the interior elegant, some elements of classical silhouette were incorporated, including antique chairs and armchairs, mirrors on gilded frames, and crystal chandeliers.
In order to have a good effect of using small rooms, some known techniques for visual enlargement of room volume were applied, including niches of gypsum, and stretched glossy-black ceiling.
